I work at Fidelity Investments in Westlake, TX  in computer networking security. My group oversees the OS security of the Wintel server infrastructure.

Lynda and I were married in August of 1983. Besides spending time with my family, I enjoy: classical and sacred music, flute playing, bible study, computers, and church. Faith and family are the two most important things to me. Everything else is secondary.

Click the image below to watch and hear the Presto movement of Trio Sonata BWV 1039 by JS Bach. I play this duet with myself using picture-in-picture video. See my other flute videos at:

Be Thou My Vision is my wife Lynda's favorite hymn. Click HERE to hear a trio rendering of this beautiful melody. I made this recording in our garage using my laptop and a PC microphone. I recorded it on Sound Blaster's wave studio software and ripped it to mp3 format using mp3 maker gold.

Click HERE to listen to my  recording of an Allegro Assai from a Canonic Sonata by G.P. Telemann (1681-1767). This was my very first attempt at home digital recording. Since this piece is a canon, I recorded myself playing it once and inserted the appropriate amount of silence on the second track copy and mixed the two files into one in Creative Wave Studio.

The recordings with the * asterisk  below were made with a Sony ECM-MS907 stereo microphone which is designed for digital recording, and is especially suited for instrumental recording. I now use Cool Edit Pro for recording and mixing; it is a very powerful program.  For accompaniment on my home recordings, I use Music Minus One which provides the soloist with a full accompaniment, from piano to ensemble, to orchestra. Many sacred and classical music publishers now offer accompaniment CDs with their scores which is what I mix with my recordings below.

In October, 2003, we formed the "Stonebriar Winds" woodwind quintet. We play about once every 6 or 8 weeks in worship services at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Texas. We have performed many preludes, offertories, and occasionally for communion services. We even had a full recital on October 17, 2004. A link to our unofficial website is below.

MY FLUTE FAMILY

Muramatsu - Model DS

This flute has: Offset G/A, Split-E, D# roller, C# trill, Heavy Wall

(Shown with my J.R. Lafin head joint below)

On February 25, 2004, a wonderful J.R. Lafin head joint joined my collection. It is without question, the best head joint I have ever played. I have been trying head joints by different makers for over two years. I opted for the silver head with solid gold lip-plate, Adler wings, solid gold crown, and platinum riser. The picture below shows Mr. Lafin's trademark Adler wings. This head joint is exceptional and is praised by James Galway and played by many professional flutists around the world. Visit J.R. Lafin's website by clicking on the image below.

My baroque flute is a Beuker's replica made in the Netherlands by Simon Polak, his website is: http://www.earlyflute.com The baroque flute has a unique sound and is not perfectly in tune with itself as the modern flute is. I have always loved the sound of the baroque and renaissance instruments.

Click HERE for an allegro duet study I recorded on my new baroque flute; playing and mixing both parts. The piece is by Florant Meline (1821), from "The Modern Flute Professor - 24 Progressive Duets".

Accompanying the Stonebriar Praise Ensemble during a communion service on 01/09/05. The piece is "What Wondrous Love Is This" arranged by our own Stephen Lynerd. In this piece I begin with the Baroque Flute and switch to the bass flute - click HERE

My Favorite Contemporary Flute Artist - Sir James Galway

This picture was taken around 1988 when James Galway was in Detroit. We went to an autograph session at the Harmony House in the Oakland Mall and James signed my copy of the Mozart Flute Concerto, K. 314. He was also gracious to allow us to snap a picture. My wife took the shot.
